Brunch @ The Kahala

This past weekend while in Hawaii, I went to have a delicious brunch at The Kahala and, of course, visit the beautiful dolphins that live at the resort. Since it was so gorgeous out that day, I went for a minimal, breezy look that’s perfect for brunch!imageOutfit Details:
Top // Brandy Melville
Skirt // J.Crew (this piece can be a skirt or dress!)
Sandals // Forever21
imageBrunch at the Kahala was filled with amazing fruits and sweets. Their pancakes and malasadas are ridiculously yummy! And the acai bowl was a must!imageBut the best part of the day was getting to see the Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins in the lagoon at the resort. Anyone who knows me will attest to the fact that I love dolphins. They’re so intelligent and beautiful!

I wish I was back there already!

Apart from being one of the necessities of life, food is also wondrous in that it brings people together. I’m the first to admit that going out to eat is one of the main ways I get to catch up with people; many of you will undoubtedly agree. imageLast week, a friend was visiting from the other side of the States, so we all ventured out to Malibu to grab some delicious brunch (the best meal of the day, if you ask me!).  We chose to grub at Malibu Farm, a cute cottage like restaurant at the end of the pier. With an amazing view and locally sourced foods, it was a quintessential Malibu brunch!imageAll the food was fresh and delicious and I can’t wait to introduce other people to this hidden gem!imageimageIf you’re relatively close to Malibu, or are visiting from out of state, I recommend you check this place out! And let me know how you like it!

Seattle Getaway

Someone take me back to Seattle! I already miss the city! I was there for the first time, visiting for 5 days and it was such a beautiful and fun place to explore! My trip included sight-seeing, eating and drinking coffee. The city itself isn’t too big, and I thought that 5 days was more than enough to hit up the major touristy spots while trying foodie and coffee places. Here are some pictures that I took during the trip and a list of places that I would definitely suggest to you if Seattle is on your travel list!

Portage Bay Cafe  – the brunch here was so awesome, they had a toppings bar where you could get unlimited fruits, syrups and cream! Above, I got their French toast and tried their sliced almonds and various fruits! Delish!

The first Starbucks in Pike Place Market! I tried their local blend!

The Pike Place Farmer’s Market was honestly my favorite spot in the city. It was so fun just walking around and trying all these different foods from savory crumpets (The Crumpet Shop), cheese (Beecher’s Handmade Cheese), Greek yogurt, clam chowder and bread (Piroshky Piroshky Bakery)! My mouth is actually watering as I type right now. The flowers sold at the market was also sooo beautiful! I would definitely have bought a bouquet if travelling on the plane with one wasn’t so difficult! Sighh.

The weather was also on our side during our time there. Most of the days were sunny and only partly cloudy. The beautiful blue sky was at times a big contrast from LA’s smog-filled air. You could definitely smell and feel the difference in air quality.

Other places to check out:

Freemont Troll
Kerry Hill – A beautiful lookout area to see the city skyline
University of Washington – The campus is very spread out and the architecture is nice!
Victrola Coffee Roasters  – I really wish I could have visited more coffee shops! This one has a nice setting, a few spots to sit outside but the inside is just as nice.
Seattle Needle
Seattle Art Museum  – We actually planned to visit the museum during the one rainy morning during our stay. It’s a relatively small museum, but I like their collection a lot!

Brunch + Bottomless Mimosas

sharkeez

Easily one of the best deals I’ve come across, Sharkeez in Manhattan Beach is currently running a “Saturday and Sunday Funday” deal till 2pm where you get a breakfast entree and bottomless mimosas for an hour for only $4.50!!!

I definitely recommend the Hawaiian Bread French Toast which comes with eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns. So head to Sharkeez to treat yourself after a long week!

Beach

And afterwards you can spend the rest of the day on the beach that’s only a few blocks away!
