One of the best feelings in the world is waking up early to begin a long weekend roadtrip. Coffee in one hand and camera in the other, I find these journeys my absolute favorite. This past weekend, I traveled to Montreal from Toronto (around a six hour drive). I’m sure most people hope to get away from the cold during vacation, but this was definitely not the case. I was traveling from one cold place to an even colder place! However, there are no complaints aside from the weather. Montreal was absolutely beautiful. With it’s cobblestone streets, old French-inspired buildings and tucked away cafes, I felt like I was in a completely new place, yet it still felt oddly like home; we are neighbors after all (province-wise).
We visited various famous streets, such as Rue St. Catherine and Rue St. Denis, both of which had popular stores weaved with cafes and boutiques. Other tourist spots included: the Museum of Fine Arts, the Biodôme, Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal (absolutely stunning–after going inside, you won’t question why they have an admission fee of $5), Montreal City Hall and Underground City (RESO). In terms food, we definitely had poutine, smoked meat at Schwartz’s and rotisserie chicken at Rotisserie Romados.
Starting top-left and clockwise: Poutine at Hippi Poutine, outside of Notre-Dame Basilica, my favorite–adorable houses near St. Denis, inside of Biodôme.

Until next time, Montreal! I’m definitely coming back for ya in the summer!
