Oatifix Mask Review: Fix Me Some Oats
January 26, 2014 § 3 Comments
I bought this mask a few weeks ago in Toronto. The main reason why I wanted to buy a mask was because the cold weather back home (-40C!!) was making my face skin really dry. I was starting to get a few dry patches, especially around my mouth and cheek area. It also didn’t help that I had just made a 15+ hour flight from Hong Kong to Toronto, so the dry air made things worse. With the combination of the recent long haul flight and bitter cold weather, my skin was left irritated and itchy. I was urgently looking for a remedy to give my skin a little extra moisture on top of my face cream. Having used Lush’s Mask of Magnaminty and loving the feel, I decided to go back to Lush for a mask that helped moisturize skin.
Reading its decription, I decided to give the Oatifix mask a try and here is my review! As you can see from the picture of the mask itself, it’s the color of oatmeal and you can actually see it has a soft grainy texture, kind of like moist brown sugar. It’s definitely on the messier side when it comes to applying and unlike the Mask of Magnaminty, it’s a little clumpy and not as smooth to apply. Nonetheless, it’s effective. I found that upon application, the mask did sting a little, but it was very tolerable. After applying the mask and leaving it on for about 5-10 minutes, I like to wet my hand and softly exfoliate my skin. The water makes the mask slightly moist and the small grainy ingredients inside exfoliate the skin very well. Since I was looking for a moisturizing mask, I made sure not to scrub too hard in case it further irritated my skin. After washing off the mask, my skin felt a lot softer and definitely less dry.
Conclusion: If you’re looking for a little extra moisture for your skin, I’d definitely recommend the Oatifix. It has immediate effects and leaves skin feeling soft and smelling sweet! I can’t even stress how wonderful this mask smells! :)
Has anyone else tried this mask? What do you think about it? We’d love to hear!
