Fourth of July | Red, White & Blue

Hi everyone! Hope your Fourth of July festivities were full of fun, fireworks and good food! The above are snapshots of the Red, White and Blue outfit that I wanted to wear for the day. I was originally thinking of buying a tank top that I’ve seen a few times at Brandy Melville (you may know which one I’m talking about, the one with the threaded American Flag), but opted to just play with the American colors instead. I wore a light blue jean jacket paired with a white casual dress that I got from H&M. Finally, I added a red bow to complete the outfit.
We also made some cupcakes to bring to our friend’s place, where we were having the celebration. We cheated and didn’t make these from scratch because we were in a time crunch AND we figured we wanted to spend our efforts decorating instead ;) I’m especially proud of the middle picture of the American Flag icing cupcake! In case you were wondering why there were Canadian themed cupcakes, Canada Day was on July 1st and since I didn’t get a chance to celebrate it this year at home, I decided to make these American themed cupcakes with a Canadian twist! It was super fun decorating, though the icing and sprinkles got really messy!
Finally, fireworks at the end of the night were so beautiful! We bought a pack in the afternoon and lit them ourselves. Morning Glories are definitely my favorite (the magical wand in the last picture) since they look so cool when captured on camera in a slow shutter speed. :) Happy Birthday, America!
