DIY: Honey Face Mask
June 4, 2013 § 2 Comments
Some people like to add honey to their teas and others? Well others like to use them as masks! Haha, I am so excited to share with you all my DIY Honey Mask! Actually, it’s so simple, I don’t even think I can call it a DIY. I have always wanted explore natural beauty substitutes and the other day when I was thinking about healthy masks, I instinctively thought of using honey. Many people have used honey as masks before because it’s simple, moisturizes your face well and makes it feel really soft!
All you need are the following:
Organic Honey | Brush | Bowl
I suggest using organic honey because it ensures that there aren’t any artificial substitutes (eek–that would defeat my purpose of finding something au naturale).
Step 1: Squeeze honey into bowl. A small drop is actually enough for your face. If you use too much at a time, the honey feels really heavy on your face after you apply it.
Step 2 (optional): Microwave for no more than 3 seconds, be very careful not to microwave any longer as the honey heats up really quickly. Remember to check if the honey is too hot before you apply it on your face, try applying a bit on the back of your hand. Generally, I do like to microwave my honey for a bit though so that it’s a little runny when I apply it. Either way, however, works so it’s up to your preference!
Step 3: Apply honey mask on your freshly washed face and wait for 10 minutes (tick tock, I’m blogging as I have my honey mask on)
Step 4: Wash off with warm water, dry your face and moisturize!
And voila, you’re done! I love this easy, natural mask. It’s all natural, doesn’t cost much and is so easy to use! Oh, and don’t forget, it smells really nice and sweet too. After a few times, I’ve definitely noticed my skin is a lot softer :)
Anyone else have other organic beauty tips that they love? I’ll be exploring more in the next few months so please be on the lookout for more!
