Finding New York (pt.2)

I’m now back in L.A. and as good as it feels to be in my own bed after so many weeks, I’m already missing NYC. The last few days of my stay in New York consisted of eating, drinking, shopping, REPEAT.I’m sure many of you know about the mecca that is Shake Shack, but if not, let me enlighten you. In Madison Square Garden, it is indeed a shack, but they also have restaurants in different neighborhoods. After you get past the ridiculously long line full of tourists and locals alike, you get (or at least you should be getting) the SHACK STACK, which is a cheeseburger topped with a portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheese. Basically, what I now use as a reference point for any burger I consume. It’s been a must on every trip to NY in the past few years.
Since my friend from SF was joining me on the last leg of my trip, we decided to do what we do best; drinking and eating in conjunction. But on a Thursday afternoon, our options were limited. After plenty of research (thank you, google) we found La Flaca, an all you can drink (AYCD) brunch during the week, in Lower East Side!! Food? Okay. Drinks? Awesome!Since I happened to be on the Upper East Side one day, I decided to try out Ladurée. I had always heard that their macarons are yummy, but also that their wait could be crazy long. I was there on a Wednesday afternoon, and luckily, no wait! So I tried the salted caramel and raspberry; my conclusion is that I’m not sure I like macarons in general. Count me in for a strawberry shortcake instead any day! The shop was adorable though!I can’t believe that I went to Eataly for the first time this trip. I could have spent hours in there, but we only got to stroll through and have a glass of wine. Next time, though, I’ll be sure to dine there! The food looked absolutely delicious!Other touristy things included a trip to Central Park, Lincoln Center, Wall Street, and Stone Street! I also went to several sample sales throughout the week, including Scoop, Alexander Wang, and Barney’s. I got a few pieces at the Alexander Wang sample sale, which I will be featuring later!
I loved getting the chance to explore all the different neighborhoods, but a week is definitely not enough time to see all of NYC. Can’t wait till the next time!
